EVERGLADES NATIONAL PARK – Here’s a rare sight. It’s a white turkey vulture! The unusually colored bird was spotted in Everglades National Park in Florida.
It’s a “leucistic” turkey vulture. That’s when an animal has a partial loss of pigment, whereas “albino” animals have full loss of pigment. This particular bird has brown eyes and the species’ signature red head. Most turkey vultures have dark feathers over their body and wings.
