VOYAGEURS NATIONAL PARK – Looking for remote work? Like, really remote?
The National Park Service is looking for someone to take over managing the Kettle Falls Hotel in Voyageurs National Park. The historic 10-room hotel is only accessible by boat or float plane. The hotel is actually north of the Canadian border, in an area where the border wends and winds in various directions, based on water passages.
Kettle Falls Hotel is the only lodging facility within the Minnesota park and is one of the most popular destinations for visitors. The structure was constructed back in 1910 as lodging for fishermen, lumberjacks and construction workers who built a dam.

The hotel has marinas, a restaurant (known for its walleye sandwich), and a bar that has a notoriously tilted floor, earning it the nickname the “Tiltin’ Hilton.”
“They say, ‘When the floor is looking level, you know you’ve had enough to drink,'” Christina Hausman Rhode, executive director of Voyageurs Conservancy, told MPR News.
The deadline to apply is June 30, 2025. For more information, click here.
