BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK – Amazingly, a cat survived a 380-foot fall off a cliff in Utah’s Bryce Canyon National Park, an incident that killed the cat’s two owners.
The 12-year-old cat was in a soft carrier when it tumbled over the ledge at Inspiration Point with Matthew Nannen, 45, and Bailee Crane, 58. It’s not clear how they fell, but officials say they climbed over a safety railing. The pair had been living out of a U-Haul trailer and spent time in Arizona prior to arriving at the national park, officials said.
The team at the animal shelter where the cat is now being cared for has named her Mirage. An initial assessment found that Mirage appears to be in good health.
