Mammoth Cave is the longest known cave system in the world at 426 miles mapped.

What a shot! Devon Pradhuman took this stark and stunning photo of wolves in Yellowstone National Park. The image was captured in Lamar Valley as the pack went in search of its next meal. He titled the photo “Aspen Shadows.” 

Out of nearly 60,000 entries from around the world, this photo qualified Pradhuman as a finalist for the Natural History Museum’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year contest. 

“I am thankful to even just be nominated out of all the entries this year. All of the images are incredible in their own way. Wildlife Photographer of the Year is the most prestigious competition of its kind and I’m honored to be a part of it this year,” wrote Pradhuman on social media. 

You can vote for your favorite among the amazing images at the Natural History Museum’s website in the People’s Choice Award category. The deadline to vote is Jan. 29, 2025.
