Herd Adapts Into Stealthy ‘Ninja Bison’

Must Read

A Mispronunciation is How Yosemite’s Name Came to Be

Yosemite National Park was originally called “Ahawanee” by the southern Miwok people who lived there.

Beware the Forest Ninja Bison!

Despite weighing up to 2,000 pounds, these bison get their name from how stealthily and silently they can move through dense underbrush in Grand Canyon National Park.

And there’s more. They seem to have learned where the National Park boundary ends. When they leave the park to get water, they make a beeline straight back, moving more quickly while outside the park than when they’re within!

It’s possible they’ve figured out where they are safest from hunters who were recruited to keep the population in check.
