Yosemite National Park was originally called “Ahawanee” by the southern Miwok people who lived there.

The National Park Service recently announced a new America the Beautiful Pass and pricing structure. U.S. residents keep the $80 rate, but international visitors will see higher fees starting Jan. 1, 2026. Non-U.S. residents can pay $250 for the annual pass or $100 per person at 11 of the most-visited parks. (Acadia National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Everglades National Park, Glacier National Park, Grand Canyon National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks, Yellowstone National Park, Yosemite National Parks, and Zion National Park)

U.S. residents will also get the following free entry days next year:

↟ Feb. 16
↟ May 25
↟ June 14
↟ July 3–5
↟ Aug. 25
↟ Sept. 17
↟ Oct. 27
↟ Nov. 11

One of the biggest surprises with the new pass is the polarizing new design. If you want to stick with the scenic version, it will only be available for purchase through this December. If you buy now, the card will be good through Dec. 2026. Click here to purchase.
