This is the view from the The Rim at Volcano House restaurant in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park during the ongoing eruption at Kilauea.
If you want to have this one-of-a-kind dining experience, here’s how:
– Book a reservation online through Volcano House. The restaurant is located right on the rim of the Kilauea volcano.
– Time out your trip with one of the volcanic episodes, which typically only last for a couple hours at a time. The lava fountains have been pretty consistent, but you might want to act fast. You never know when this eruption will come to an end!
“Models suggest a likely forecast window of November 6–12 for episode 36,” says the USGS.
