DEATH VALLEY NATIONAL PARK – Inspirational! An 80-year-old just finished the 135-mile ultramarathon that starts in Death Valley National Park.

Bob Becker is officially the oldest runner to complete the Badwater 135, which goes from Death Valley—the lowest elevation in North America—to Mt. Whitney, which is the highest elevation in the contiguous United States.

The Badwater 135 is called the “world’s toughest race,” a grueling test of endurance in which runners face temperatures above 110° F through Death Valley with 13 miles of an intense uphill climb to get to the finish line. Becker finished in about 45 hours.

“Physically, I was actually feeling pretty good, but also completely relieved that I was done. It’s an exhausting thing,” Becker told CBS News.

Becker was just one of 93 people to finish the race this year. He really got into running while he was in his late 50s.

“I’m not ready to retire yet…The key is don’t ever stop, that’s all,” Becker said.
