HAWAII VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK – The National Park Service has released body camera video showing a deadly March 4, 2025 encounter with a murder suspect in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
28-year-old Isaiah Kaleo Jiaan Fourshey was shot and killed near a campsite after being warned multiple times by law enforcement to surrender peacefully. The video shows NPS and Hawaii Police Department officers pleading repeatedly with Fourshey to end the pursuit and subsequent standoff, but the suspect was belligerent and combative. After being tazed, Fourshey pulled out a handgun and fired at officers before he was gunned down himself.
No park rangers, police officers, or bystanders were injured.
Fourshey had been sought by authorities in a 14-hour manhunt after killing a 25-year-old woman in a neighborhood near the national park. The victim was Fourshey’s ex-girlfriend’s sister. The ex-girlfriend was unharmed, despite being at the residence at the time. Fourshey also opened fire earlier at the women’s mother’s home, but no one was injured, according to police.
The FBI is investigating the incident.

These officers did absolutely nothing wrong. They were in a position be killed or unfortunately kill. My heart goes out to the young man who lost his life that obviously needed psychiatric help. His family. The families he harmed most of all. But so much for these officers. You can tell they were officers that cared. Officers who will be effected by this trauma. Maybe with the help he needed early in life all of this could have been avoided.
