Florida is home to a unique habitat shared by both of these large and impressive predators.

YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK – Hundreds of boulders, trees and other debris from a large rockslide have covered the famous John Muir Trail between Clark Point and the top of Nevada Falls in Yosemite National Park.

With at least 1,000 feet of the trail buried under rubble, the trail is now closed until further notice. Extensive work is required before reopening, including drilling and blasting the boulders. The area must also be assessed for the possibility of future rockfalls. Fortunately the trail was closed for the season when the rocks fell, and no injuries were reported.

In the meantime, hikers at the California park are urged to heed the closed gates and stay out of the area for their own safety.
