Nowhere else in the world has this many of the unique rock formations created by years of erosion in one place.

ZION NATIONAL PARK – Zion National Park has grown by 48 acres.

The Lowe family owned the property within the Utah Park for generations, using the land to raise their cattle. When they decided it was time to sell, they wanted to make sure the landscape was preserved. So, they chose to sell to the Trust for Public Land, which in turn gave ownership of the property to the National Park Service.

Money for the sale came from the National Park Foundation, the Eccles Foundation, private donations and funding from a Land Water Conservation Fund grant.

“The property is one of 10 such projects the Trust for Public Land has completed in and around Zion in recent years,” according to KUER, NPR Utah.
