GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK – Want an adventure to remember? Try taking on the rapids in Grand Canyon!
The Colorado River runs through the heart of the national park, turning brown along the way as it continues to carve away at the rock and sediment.
This video was captured by river guide Roger Dale and shared by OARS Whitewater Rafting.
Thrill seekers can take river rafting tours along the river, ranging from a half day to 25 days. Commercial operations with the pros are one option. You can also go by yourself (if you’re an expert), but you’ll need a permit.
“The Colorado River through Grand Canyon National Park is a highly technical river, not something for the inexperienced to try,” warns the NPS to anyone planning to self-guide. “At least one member of each river trip must have the experience and skills required by the National Park Service.”
