Looking to see some of the most spectacular scenes our national parks and protected lands have to offer, but can’t make it out in person? Here’s a list of some live cameras you might want to check out:

Bear Cam, Katmai National Park and Preserve – Watch massive brown bears gather in huge numbers to fish during the yearly salmon run as the fish leap up Brooks Falls. (sometimes unavailable if there is insufficient solar power)

Old Faithful, Yellowstone National Park – Catch the world’s most famous geyser in action or watch bison bumble by. Hours worth of entertainment.

Kelp Cam, Channel Islands National Park – A live look at the underwater world off the California coast. Keep an eye out for sea lions, stingrays, and lobsters.

Half Dome, Yosemite National Park – If you’re looking for a moment of zen, looking no farther than this peaceful view of the iconic granite monolith with a pleasant meadow in the foreground.

Hawaii Volcanoes, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park – See some of the world’s most active volcanoes spewing forth lava (sometimes) or seeping fumes into the sky. When the lava is flowing, this camera is simply spectacular.

Bald Eagle Nest, San Bernardino National Forest – Observe doting bald eagle parents Shadow and Jackie take turns guarding their eggs in a tree high above Big Bear Lake. Thousands of people are captivated by these majestic birds.
