ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK – Ready or not, winter has arrived in the high elevations of Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. The snow started falling at about 5 p.m. Monday (Sept. 22, 2025) at the Alpine Visitor Center, according to the National Park Service.
Trail Ridge Road was closed as a result of the severe weather. If you’re planning to travel to the park, make sure you’re getting weather updates via Rocky Mountain’s social media accounts, website, or its phone status line 970-586-1222.
