PINNACLES NATIONAL PARK – This eerie little scene unfolded on Condor Gulch Trail in Pinnacles National Park — a tarantula wandering through the dusk, perfectly at home in the season of cobwebs and cool nights.
“Now that the weather is cooling down the male spiders are setting off across the state to find love,” said the National Park Service. “They are searching for females who reside in burrows to mate.”
The NPS added that tarantulas tend to emerge at dusk, so if you’re driving through the California park, keep an eye out and slow down to avoid squishing these unique creatures.
