Fun fact: The Black Crack is a giant chasm in Canyonlands National Park that you definitely don’t want to get too close to! This abyss is at least 65 feet deep and 3 feet across at points.
Reaching this fissure in sandstone is only for the most intrepid and rugged adventurers. It’s at about the halfway point of the 100-mile White Rim Road, an unpaved track through the Utah desert that requires 4-wheel drive or bikes to reach. You also need to secure a permit through the National Park Service to try to go there.
