CONGAREE NATIONAL PARK – Pack an extra couple dollars next time you plan to camp at Congaree National Park.

The South Carolina park is raising campsite reservation fees starting January 1st. A Bluff Campground fee is doubling from $5 per night to $10. The fee at Longleaf Campground is going up to $15 per night from $10.

The NPS says the extra revenue will go toward taking care of the campsites. Just recently, new fire rings, picnic tables and lantern hooks were added at some sites within the park, in addition to drainage improvements.
